Posture

Sitting upright helps to bring the spine in alignment and eases your breath. Here is cue you can use to enable your body to sit correctly in an easy cross legged pose.

While sitting cross legged on the floor (use a rolled up blanket or a pillow to support your tailbone and elevate your spine if necessary) place your palms on your knees and without moving your hands attempt to pull your hands back towards your torso. This will enable your back to support your spine and make your back taller. You should feel an immediate difference in the way you breathe and feel.
